Where Innovation Thrives.

If you’re looking to startup, grow or relocate your technology company, you’ve come to the right place. Hunterdon County is strategically located at the center of the U.S. Northeast Corridor. Businesses who locate here are within an hour’s drive or train ride to both New York City and Philadelphia, without the associated big-city real estate costs. In addition, the region offers the most advanced broadband capabilities and connections, with speeds that are among the fastest in the nation.

Brains And Beauty

Hunterdon County isn’t just a beautiful place to live, its reputation for its highly educated workforce makes it a logical choice for technology startups and established companies who are looking for top talent to help them develop the technologies of tomorrow. These companies also benefit from the growing pool of qualified and tech-savvy students who graduate from the region’s top colleges every year, including Princeton University, Rutgers University’s School of Communication and Information (SC&I) and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

With some of the top schools and vocational academies in the nation, much of this talent is honed early. Hunterdon County Vocational School District’s Computer Science and Applied Engineering Academy (CSAEA) is a full time vocational high school that prepares students to succeed at jobs in the high-demand tech field. Hunterdon County Polytech partners with local businesses in the community to provide training opportunities, internships and other learning experiences that prepare high school students for a career in technology.

Bringing New Technologies Home

Hunterdon County doesn’t just wait for new technologies to be developed, we’re at the forefront of creating those technologies right here in our 26 municipalities. To underscore our commitment to innovation and technology, we’ve partnered with Flemington Community Partnership and the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce to create HackHunterdon. This annual 24-hour tech product creation competition brings the most creative and passionate technologists and innovators together to work around the clock to build groundbreaking software solutions that solve real-world problems.

The competition pulls talent from Universities like Princeton, Raritan Valley Community College, and The College of New Jersey, as well as from our growing pool of Hunterdon’s developers, technologists, and UI/UX designers. It’s an incredible way to identify and connect with innovative, entrepreneurial talent in Hunterdon, with the aim of recognizing their abilities, partnering with their efforts, and creating an opportunity for their products and ideas to thrive locally. It is a key component of the county’s long-term plans for prosperity.
